There will be a reception in honor of religious book author Kent Annan at Off Square Books on Saturday, April 9, at 5:00 p.m. Annan left behind his prosperous, comfortable upbringing to face the world beyond its gates in Haiti, and in Following Jesus Through the Eye of the Needle he expresses what it means to love God and love our neighbor -- when love makes one uncomfortable and even requires vulnerability. In After Shock, Annan considers suffering as a problem for faith in the wake of the historic Haiti earthquake. Kent Annan will be speaking earlier Saturday at First Presbyterian Church.
