Alistair MacLeod, one of Canada's pre-eminent writers will come to Square Books to read from his book Island: The Complete Stories. Set mostly in MacLeod's own Cape Breton, the stories are about the islanders who make their living at sea and in the mines. Among other accolades, MacLeod has won two Canadian Booksellers Association Libris awards.

There will be a reception at 5 p.m., reading at 5:30.
