If you've been in the store lately you've no doubt seen the
Penguin Lives series of biographies. They feature some of
the best contemporary writers telling the life stories of
history's most compelling characters. Everybody from Rosa
Parks to Ghandi to Andy Warhol have been covered and there's
many more on the way.
One that we're most excited about it Bobbie Ann Mason's biography
of Elvis Presley. From the first time she heard him, Mason
felt a kind of kinship with Elvis. Like her, he was a southerner
from simple beginnings. He continued to be a source of fascination
and inspiration to her throughout his entire career.
