David Anthony Durham, author of Gabriel's Story, will return to Square Books with his second book Walk Through Darkness. It's a novel with two, parallel narratives: First, a fugitive slave, named William, from Mayland on a quest not only for his own freedom but for his wife, who is pregnant with his child. The other storyline is that of a Scottish immigrant named Morrison trying to build a life in America.

There will be a reception with refreshments at 5 p.m. Mr Durham will read beginning at 5:30.
