Lorian Hemingway, granddaughter
of Ernest Hemingway, has written a book about the 1966 tornado
that struck Jackson, Mississippi. A
World Turned Over tells the story of the storm that
killed nearly sixty people, injured many more and did nearly
incalculable damage was done to buildings, bridges and property.
Displaying a wonderful skill at storytelling, Hemingway
brings intimacy to this tragedy. She explores the lives
of the victims and the survivors.
