The Boston Globe wrote, "Reading Jim Harrison is about
as close as one can come in contemporary fiction to experiencing
the abundant pleasures of living."
We make no bones about the fact that Jim Harrison is our
hero, and if you've never read his fiction, you're missing
one of the supreme delights of modern literature. We're
mighty pleased to hear that his inevitable memoir has finally
arrived, Off to the Side (Atlantic Monthly, hd. 25.00),
and its no doubt filled with his stupefying descriptions
of life -- from sensual pleasures to spiritual awareness
and plenty of other odd stories and reflections.
There's no telling what Father Jim has up his sleeve for
us. We encourage you to come by and see for yourself on
Tuesday, November 19. Signing at 5 p.m., reading at 5:30.
