My latest good read is the book ECHO, by Kate Morgenroth. This book is about a boy who has to go through life after seeing his brother die in a terrible accident. He has nightmares, has to take medication, and all of a sudden he starts hearing a voice in his head. One terrible day at school something goes wrong and he is forced to relive that day over and over again. Its a very good read!

by Deborah Wiles

Each Little Bird that Sings, by Mississippi native Deborah Wiles, is about a girl named Comfort Snowberger. Her father owns Snowberger Funeral Home. Comfort has to deal with death almost every day, but recently it has been with Great Uncle Edisto and Great- Great Aunt Florentine. Peach, Comforts little cousin has come to both of their funerals and at Great Uncle Edisto's, Peach is so grief-stricken he actually gets into the casket with Great Uncle Edisto. Now Declaration Johnson, Comfort's best friend doesn't want to come to anymore funerals because she thinks Peach is so annoying and also because her mother died when she was little and Great-Great Aunt Florentine was the only person she could really talk to about that kind of stuff. And when Comfort tells Declaration how she feels about her not going to the funeral it all ends in a fight!

Erec Rex: The Dragon's Eye by Kaza Kingsley

The Dragon's Eye is a great book to start off a new series. Set in New York City, Erec Rex, a 12 year old boy with a glass eye (yes, you heard me, a glass eye), lives and sleeps in a washroom in a small apartment with his siblings, Trevor, Nell, Danny and Sammy (twins), and Zoey. One day their mom is kidnapped out of the blue. Forced by one of his "cloudy thoughts" (these thoughts, he worries, will force him one day to do something terrible), Erec goes to Times Square. There, he gets stuck and a girl leads him through a door that throws him into a whirlwind of adventure.

Ender's Game, by Orson Scott Card, is a fast paced book which is about a boy who is entered into the Battle School. The reason that this happens is because the buggers are attacking!!! These are an alien species that have been attacking the humans for over 50 years! Ender excels in Battle School and is particuarly great in the battle simulations that the schools staff put on for the students. As he excels in the game the staff make so unfair he quits. After this he graduates and moves on to Commander School.
