by Chris D'Lacey

I read the book that you sent with my grandparents last time they came in. It was The Fire Within by Chris D'Lacey. You might think that it is a real suspensful book like Harry Potter or Eragon, but it isn't as action-packed. It has a little mystery packed into it too. I thought that it might be good for some younger kids to read in a book club, but not anyone over maybe 10 or so because it's pretty easy reading. I would say that another dragon book like Eragon would be what I would prefer. On a scale of one to ten, I give it a 6 because I don't think it has that much action, which makes books good.

by Frances Hardinge
Fly by Night, by Frances Hardinge, is about a kingdom that had a king but he was killed because he was a bad king that didn't do anything to help his kingdom. He had a son but he was killed in a freak accident involving a camel. Parliament and other kings and queens fought over who was to become the ruler of the country. Well the country fell into ruin and parliament ruled cruelly and extremely harsh. Mosca, the main character in the book sets her uncles barn/house/her bedroom on fire then sets a convict loose, then they make a run for it. Clent, the convict that she runs away with is a sneaky man that try's to ditch her, but she's smarter than he is and gets him. Along their journey they meet Lady Tamarind and save her from highway robbers and that's where the real fun starts. She gets Mosca to spy on Clent for her. I'm not going to say any more so pick up the book and start reading! There is only one thing that I'm gonna complain about and that is that the author, Frances Hardinge, seems to skip around and make things a little unclear only to explain it later. I don't like that but that's just me so if you don't mind then dive right in!

by Carl Hiaasen

Flush, by Carl Hiaasen, is a great book with an even greater message. When Noah's dad sinks a casino boat, the Coral Queen, because they have been dumping illegal substances into the ocean, he is put in jail because there is no proof against the Coral Queen or its owner. Determinded to prove that his father did it for a cause, Noah gets proof that the Coral Queen HAS been illegally dumping, saving his father and the marine life affected by its dumping.

Flush, by Carl Hiaasen, is a wonderful book about a family that is determined to stop a casino boat (the Coral Queen) from polluting any more. You meet a character, a dad named Paine Underwood, who blew up the boat to stop it from pouring is sewer holding tank into the beautiful Florida Key water. He has two kids named Noah and Abbie, and unfortunately for him his kids don't listen and they decide to help their dad. With the help of a very umm... masculine, yes, masculine bartender named Shelly they create a master plan to sink the Coral Queen for good. This is a great book if you liked Carl Hiaasen's other book Hoot. It is rich in Florida wildlife and is full of adventure.

by Clair Bee

Fence Busters by Clair Bee is an aweswome book about baseball and how jealousy plays a role in the success (good or bad) of a team. When the main player gets hurt because of a teammate Chip Hilton must make friends with that player and take his team to the top. Great book.
