by Kathryn Winter |
KATARINA,
by Kathryn Winter, is a tragic, yet sweet at times, story
of a young jew who wants to fit in. She is forced to move,
hide, flee, and any other type of action that was necessary
to escape Hitler and his horrible army. She was put in with
another family, and stayed there for a short time, until
she was forced to flee again. She found alternate lodgings
until she was put into an orphanage. She was lonely, and
they made fun of her, at first. She started slowly to make
friends and be happy. Will she stay that way? (8 and up)
