Catherine Fisher's Oracle Betrayed is an exceptional historacal fiction about the worship of the god in ancient egypt. A book that tells the story of a corrupted system of worship. Eight of the nine dealers of the god have been misled. The Speaker-to-the-god is lying to the people. She can't really hear the god, but is telling the people of her wish instead. Then a new member of the nine finds out and secretly fights back. Will she prevail or fail? I know already, but you still have to read and find out. (9 & up)

The "outcasts" never get to go on field trips with their school, mostly because no one wants to deal with them. When suddenly all of them are selected to go on one of the biggest field trips during the school year, they are all really excited, but their dream trip soon turns into a nightmare. The 5 outcasts are suddenly pulled out of the reality they know, and dropped in another reality that is extremely dangerous. These outcasts will have to work together to save themselves. This is one of the best books I have read in a while.
