When do you buy books?
Square Books buys used books by appointment only. Typically from 10 a.m. to noon & 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Email books@squarebooks.com to schedule an appointment.

What do you buy?
We basically buy on principles of supply and demand. If people still want to read it, and we don’t have too many, we’ll buy it as long as it’s in good shape.

What do you NOT buy?
Books that are water damaged, moldy, or otherwise very poor condition. Serial romances, Reader’s Digest condensed books, ex-library books (even when marked as discarded), books that are underlined or highlighted, books that are out of date (older computer books, out-of-date travel guides, fad diet books no longer in demand, older business books, etc.), family Bibles, old encyclopedias, advanced reading copies, magazines, and comics.

How much do you pay for books?
There is no set formula for what we pay. It is based on supply and demand and the condition of the book.

How do you pay for books?
We pay in cash or store credit. Store credit is usually a better deal.
