My name used to be Red Bird. But now it is Brave Buffalo. I want to tell you why it was changed.

I am an old man now. I live in South Dakota with my tribe. It is the Sioux tribe. We old men of this tribe like to tell stories.

Right now I am painting a picture story. Here is a cow-skin stretched out tight. On it I am painting many little pictures.

Indians call this a picture-skin, or story-skin.

It is the Sioux kind of story-book.
