Inside the Fall 2012 Dear Reader you will find a calendar full of events to hopefully get you as excited. The season begins with Peter Heller signing THE DOG STARS on August 22, the survivalist/adventure story of Hig, a character you feel yourself becoming as the book is told moment-by-moment in his thoughts. This book has everyone in Square Books buzzing. We also have two historical events planned for the fall. James Meredith will be here to sign his new memoir, A MISSION FROM GOD, which should be interesting to everyone in the Oxford/Ole Miss community. Then in October, Caroline Kennedy stops by Square Books to sign copies of LISTENING IN: THE SECRET WHITE HOUSE RECORDINGS OF JOHN F. KENNEDY. This book comes with audio recordings that we can't wait to hear. Thacker Mountain Radio has a stellar lineup of authors books such as Padgett Powell, who kicks the season off September 6, Rheta Grimsley Johnson, Michael Morris, Joe Crespino, Lawrence Norfolk and J.R. Moehringer. Square Books Jr. has Peter Brown coming to sign his book, CREEPY CARROTS and Annette Simon signs her book, ROBOT ZOMBIE FRANKENSTEIN. Square Books Jr. will also host the FIERCE READS TOUR, a group signing of four young adult authors. You don't have to be a student to get your fall reading on this semester.
The Summer 2012 Dear Reader is out now including in the first two pages a detailed calendar of author pictures and event times to help keep track of the full schedule we have planned to begin summer. The cover of this issue features author Richard Ford, who will be visiting us Monday, June 11, to read and sign copies of his new book, Canada. Setting the pace for the rest of June, Ford begins a full week, Monday through Saturday, of author events featuring a different author each night. Also included are reviews of new books from Toni Morrison, Hilary Mantel, Ace Atkins, Robert Olmstead, Ann Fisher-Wirth, and Dave Eggers.
