Independent Bookstore Day
What should I major in? How often do I really need to change the oil in my car? What is my color palette? Fiat or Mini Cooper? Who is your favorite band? What was the Marshall Plan? What is the book that everyone should read? Who was that woman in that movie who played that part? What is 8 times 9? What does is all mean? How do I get the flakiest pie crust? How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Who holds the record for most Super Bowl wins? Is it time for my relationship to get to the next level? Should I keep my money in stocks or buy gold? What is your first memory? Gene Krupa or Ginger Baker?
Have questions? Come Ask An Author! On Saturday, April 30th, from 10:30 to 4 at Square Books, some of our author friends will help us celebrate Independent Bookstore Day by answering whatever questions are on your mind. Beginning at 9 am, we will start selling some of the limited edition special items produced exclusively for Independent Bookstore Day, like the tea towel with the David Mitchell quote and the signed Anthony Bourdain Perfect Burger print, as well as a brand new Square Books t-shirt. Exclusive items are in limited quantity and will be available in-store, in-person only, beginning at 9 am on April 30. Throughout the day we'll serve some refreshments, including free coffee until 11:00 a.m., raffle off items, give away some cool swag, and have a big book sale with all used and bargain books being sold at an additional 25% off. But as we are celebrating bookstores, we'll mostly just do what bookstores do best, recommend and sell books to all who come to see us at any of the three Square Books stores on the square in Oxford.
Please join us,along with 400 independent bookstores across the country, as we celebrate this special day.
