The ultimate Delta coffee table book celebrating the beauty, mystique and legacies of the most unique region in the South, "the Delta." This colorful 200-page book is an edited collection of essays, features, interviews and passages selected from the archives of the first six volumes (2003-2013) of Delta Magazine, starting with July/August 2003, when Lee and Pup McCarty of McCartys Pottery graced the first cover. This new title by Coopwood Publishing Group commemorates Delta Magazine's Ten Year Anniversary in July 2013, released November 2012.
Three sections of the book define THE DELTA: Landscapes and Landmarks, which highlights Delta Magazine's best essays from The Final Word section in each issue (by William Dunlap, William Bearden, Tom Rankin, among others) coupled with beautiful photography and quotes (William Ferris, Ellen Douglas, James C. Cobb, among others); The Land of Legends, which pays tribute to the likes of B.B. King and Morgan Freeman to our own local heroes; and Our Cultural Heritage, a salute to the flourishing arts, literary, musical and culinary scene, plus a nostalgic nod to bygone days.
Written and edited by Delta Magazine's editor in chief Melissa
