Midnight Murakami Event at Square Books

On August 11, 2014 Square Books will host an event to celebrate the publication of Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, the highly anticipated novel by acclaimed novelist Haruki Murakami. This is a participatory event.

Participants are requested to do the following things:

1. Think of a color you associate with yourself.
2. Prepare to recite your own haiku composition. Those needing assistance may find a haiku generator (no kidding) here: http://www.languageisavirus.com/interactive-haiku-generator.html#.U6szTJRdVZM
3. Reveal a dream you feel has been important to you in some way. (Important: There is a strict 30-second time limit.)

Feel free to dress in what you feel to be appropriate attire. You may wear a kimono (or bathrobe), and if you wish to bring a flower that would be nice.

The doors will open promptly at 11:15 p.m., at the main store, and the event will be upstairs.

Sake mint juleps or tea will be served before the haiku exchange.

We will send a reminder the day of the event.
